SWAROVSKI OPTIK ATX/STX/BTX 115mm Objective Lens Module (Eyepiece Module Required)
Key Features
  • Eyepiece Module Required
  • Large 115mm Objective Lens
  • Field-Flattener Lens System
  • Extra-Low Dispersion Fluoride HD Glass
Representing the largest objective option in their line of modular spotting scopes, the Swarovski Optik ATX/STX/BTX 115mm Objective Lens Module will accept any of the three available eyepiece modules: straight (STX) or angled-viewing (ATX), or the binocular viewer (BTX). The bayonet mount for the eyepiece modules is backward compatible with the original ATX/STX modules, to make it easy for users to upgrade their objectives without needing a new eyepiece module. This extra-large objective, versus the 65mm, 85mm, and 95mm models, draws in more light and produces a larger exit pupil to improve its low-light capabilities and make it an invaluable companion from the pre-dawn hours to all the way past dusk.

Which tripod head works with the 115mm scope?

Which tripod head works with the 115mm scope?
Asked by: Karen
Any head will work, but I strongly prefer a fluid head because it is stable like a gimbal, offers ease of movement like a ball head, and uses fluid resistance, which is smooth. To mount the scope to my fluid heads, I use a short Arca Swiss lens plate. I would avoid a ball head because the balance of the scope would be more difficult. A gimbal would work fine, but I think a fluid head is a better option.

How come the eyepieces magnification for 115 is ...

How come the eyepieces magnification for 115 is the same as for 95?
Asked by: Vlado
The magnification is the same because magnification is not dependent on objective lens diameter. The 95mm is much less weight which comes into play for transporting then the 115mm is much bigger but brighter.

Is this 115mm model compatible with the older ...

Is this 115mm model compatible with the older DH101 head as direct mount? Thanks.
Asked by: Zhanzhan
Hello, the 115mm objective module is compatible as a direct mount, however, it represents a significant amount of weight for the system. If the unit rotates on its axis while tilt tension is low, it could escape the lock if moving fast enough. The DH101 head was built to be lightweight and readily portable, but was introduced years before the 115's release. It will work, but I'd recommend caution. What is the minimum focus distance with the STX eyepiece at 30x? Thanks!
Asked by: Tara
Hello, the minimum focusing distance is determined by the objective module, and is true at any power. The STX 65 is 6.9 ft, the STX 85 is 11.8 ft, and the STX 95/115 are 15.7 ft. Best Regards, David Eickelmann, Swarovski Optik North America.
