RODE SC11 Right-Angle 3.5mm TRS Y-Splitter Cable (10.9")

The 10.9" long Rode SC11 is a TRS Y-splitter cable designed for connecting the mono outputs of two devices such as camera-mount microphones or wireless receivers to the stereo input of a mirrorless camera, DSLR, or camcorder. It is wired to send each connected source to a separate channel rather than summing them to mono.

It features two right-angle 3.5mm TRS plugs for your mics/receivers and one right-angle plug for your camera input. The SC11 can be paired with the separately available Rode DCS-1 dual cold shoe mount to create a straightforward and effective solution for mounting and cabling two mics or receivers atop your camera.

I was looking to get a second shoe holder that was vertical like the SmallRig no longer makes, but this horizontal one is nice for seeing readings on the wireless tx and rx at the same time.

When you go from stills to video, chances are you'll need an extra cold shoe, one for the mic and one for the light. I never knew I needed this mount until I wanted to record a quick video in a high contrast location, under a car, where it's a pain to set up lights on their own. Wide separation of the top shoes gives you room for bigger items, while still being quite compact. A bulkier light won't interfere with the wider anti-vibration mic mount. Nor will transmitters that tend to be wide at the base cover the other shoe rendering it unusable. Metal construction is a plus, although gizmos that mount in cold shoes tend to be light anyways, so plastic wouldn't be a deal breaker. It is priced well too.
