The camera is capable of producing N-Log only through an external recorder. The closest you can get to that internally is by shooting in flat picture profile.

The second slot on this camera accepts UHS-II cards, however CFExpress cards would offer faster performance.

You can use it without a firmware update, it is just recommended to do one to be able to get the best performance and functionality out of it.

I currently have the Z6. Is it worth upgrading to the Z6II? If so, why? I shoot a variety of settings and venues. Indoor and outdoor. I'm starting to get into shooting video as well.
There are 2 main upgrades to the Z6II over the original Z6. First the camera now has 2 card slots which is great for anyone who shoots a variety of things (like yourself). Second the Z6II now has dual processors, so it's now much faster than the original in just about everything. Focus tracking is better (faster and more accurate), video can be processed faster at higher rates, the cameras overall functionality is better. If you think any of these things will help you in your work than I'd consider upgrading.
