Stopped working after less than a year

This was great for awhile, but about 6 months in it started to work only intermittently. Now just under a year later, it's not working no matter what I do. I suspected lint or gunk in my iPhone port, but after cleaning and swapping with another cable I determined it was this one.

Hoped this Belkin cord would be better, but no!

I have been using Belkin cords for years. I had normally purchased the corded type, but found that they would always fray after a short amount of time. I used to buy them for the whole family of six, but no longer. I happened upon the Belkin Lightning to USB A cable with the cord with the rubber type instead of the braided cord. So far there are no frays. However the contacts on the lightning connector are not reaching properly inside my Apple Products, and thus, not charging fully or are turning of and on with the slightest touch. I was hoping this one would finally be a winner (after so much money wasted), but alas it is not.
