Will I be able to connect the microphone and the mount to my phone when I have a case on the phone?
I doubt it. The usb c will be too short to reach into the phone. Not only that the the rear support of the mic isn't adjustable and doesn't allow for much additional thickness the case would add. The only way I think a case would fit would the use of a thin silicone case that wouldn't really protect a phone. I have not seen a case that have very aggressive cut outs that would limit the space near the usb c port.

The phone holder in the Rode Vlogger Kit USB-C Edition Filmmaking Kit for Mobile Devices with USB Type-C Ports is meant to be used in a horizontal orientation. It could presumably be oriented vertically if the holder is fastened tightly, but this is not necessarily recommended.
