A great utilitarian and versatile camera bag

To preface, I own too many camera bags to count. The range is from very expensive and beautiful looking ones to simple, inexpensive ones. I bought this bag on a trip about 10 years ago. At the time I was shooting a Nikon DSLR kit and had no shoulder bag with me. I purchased this bag and later acquired the Domke postman's shoulder pad which to me if you load this bag up is a great addition. Note that the bag itself weights next to nothing. I put some foam padding in the bag bottom and don't use the supplied nylon rectangular dividers. I either install a few dividers using the internal velcro on the front and back internal walls, or use lens wraps or microfiber cloths to protect the gear. Because of its flexible fabric, the loaded up bag conforms perfectly to my hip and with the help of the shoulder pad, the bag is supremely comfortable. Access to the bag is a snap. The top flap secures (somewhat tenuously) to the front of the bag with velcro. Care must be taken when the top flap is not secured with the supplied clip and O ring but I never had gear fall out of the bag in any circumstance. The two side pockets are deep and wide and hold varying combinations of an extra lens, a 120 5 film box, a Sekonic light meter, a full sized flash, sunglasses in case, keys, wallet, etc. The front pocket will hold any one or a few of these things if you choose but I don 't load that pocket because I don't like the weight distribution. I keep smaller things in the front pocket. The back pocket is thin and holds a writing pad, a small iPad, pen and similar things. The canvas strap and body of the bag have held up very well. There is also a small canvas hand carry strap. At present the bag is holding a Leica M8, 3 Leica lenes in dedicated lens cases, an M8 charger, spare batteries, a writing pad and pen and my cell phone. I have carried a small Hasselblad V kit, a Pentax 67 (body and 2 lenses), full mirrorless kit, D850 with grip mounted and a few other lenses. When you put the bag down, it does not move or tip over. The bag is unobtrusive. It meets every need I have. I hope this review of this great camera bag has been helpful. Louis.

This is the perfect carry bag

I have quite a few camera bags including 5 other Domke bags. All bags serve a purpose, this is a shooter's bag. I have backpacks from Think Tank and Tamarac and other large Domke bags like the F-1x and F-7 to the smaller F-2 and F-6. There is a law of camera dynamics that always tries to fill empty space, but just remember, you have to carry what is in the bag. When I shoot, I don't want bags that fall over when they are put down. I want to be able to get in and out of the bag quickly and without fuss. Other manufactures make innovative products, but sometimes they seem more like an Origami experiment than a camera bag. Yes, I have those too, but when I just want my cameras, this is it for my Canon Mirrorless and DSLR shooting. If I want my Fujifilm XT-3 kit, I will use the F-6 bag which I also love, but this is my full frame carry bag.
