Stylish in appearance, exacting in performance, the black Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.5 Aspherical II MC is a sleek normal-length prime M-mount lens distinguished by its speed and classic rendering. The bright f/1.5 maximum aperture suits working in low-light conditions and also enables greater control over depth of field for isolating subjects using selective focus. The optical design includes one double-sided aspherical element, which helps to deliver high sharpness and low distortion by suppressing a variety of aberrations. This lens also features a multi-coating to suppress lens flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color fidelity when working in strong lighting conditions. Its manual focus design permits working with subjects as close as 2.3' away and a 12-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality to suit working with shallow depth of field.

Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.5 Aspherical II M... Reviews
A truly beautiful lens for my Leica!
This lens is incredibly sharp and operates smoothly in every way. Very high quality, and a fraction of the cost of a Leica Summilux lens. The "47 degrees" article on comparing ten 50mm Leica M lenses convinced me that this is as good, or very nearly as good as the Leica Summilux-M 50 f/1.4 ASPH, and at a fraction of the price!
Darn near perfect
I like so many things about this lens, it’s easier to talk about what I don’t like. I wish the aperture ring was knurled all the way around. That’s it. I could whine about the fact that the distance scale is in meters only, but I’m pretty good at multiplying by three if I want to think in feet. So, it’s fine. Otherwise I have no complaints at all. It’s fantastically sharp, even wide open. For the money, it can’t be beat.
