Genelec G One Reviews
Unbelievable Sound Quality!
I am totally blown away by the sound quality - very accurate with excellent imaging and very truthful to the recordings; nothing is hyped which makes them non fatiguing to listen to. The level of realism with human voice and musical instruments is incredible. The bass from 3 drivers is incredible however with some music, I miss the lower bass, so if you want full range sound, you need to pair it with Genelec’s F One subwoofer. Take time to set up the speakers properly. Mine sounded bass heavy flat (all dip switches off). To address this, I selected the middle dip switch for desktop mode and cut the bass a further 2 dB recommended for a reverberant room. I have them arranged equilaterally, i.e., about a meter apart and one meter from my ears. I also have them angled up and pointed at my ears. Please note that it will some hours for the tonal balance to stabilize so be patient. I am using the headphone out from my MacBook Pro to the G Ones using an inexpensive $ 12 cable from the Guitar Center. From an aesthetic stand point, the speakers are a handsome design that look I excellent in the raw finish. This finish looks much better in real life than in pictures.
Stunning sound, finish and technology.
Bought the Genelec pair of speakers for my granddaughter to listen to her turntable while away at college. The speakers look great and the sound is stunning. Solid feel and beautifully finished. Remarkably easy to set up and adjust.
