Robus RCM-633 Overview

This Robus RCM-633 6-Section Carbon Fiber Monopod with SBM-001 Stabilizing Base kit from B&H combines a 65" carbon fiber monopod with a folding, 3-legged base. Robus RCM-633 6-Section Carbon Fiber Monopod, 65"

The RCM-633 6-Section Carbon Fiber Monopod by Robus quickly extends to a height of 65" with a simple turn of the twist-locks. The 6-section design provides a strong platform with minimum bending or bowing, and the sturdy, 10x carbon fiber tubes offer rigidity and strength for a stable platform while out and about on location. It supports equipment weighing up to 33 lb and is supplied with interchangeable rubber and spike feet for surefooted point of contact with the ground. The head plate features a reversible 1/4"-20 to 3/8"-16 threaded mounting stud for optional heads or lens collars to extend its capability. The included wrist strap provides additional security when performing one-handed operation, and the convenient belt clip allows you to quickly carry the monopod by your side or on your pack, ready for action. Additionally, the monopod folds down to 17.2" for optimal portability and storage.

6-Section Monopod with Twist Locks
The Robus RCM-633 6-section monopod extends up to 65", and the twist locks provide a simple yet secure way to extend and collapse it quickly. Rotate the locks a quarter turn to extend or lock the sections, and non-rotating leg segments allow you to extend several sections at a time.
10x Carbon Fiber and Aluminum Construction
The 10x carbon fiber tubes offer stability and strength to dampen vibrations and provide a robust shooting support and are paired with aluminum twist-lock collars for optimal strength from minimal weight.
Tactile Rubber Grip
The textured rubber grip collar offers a tactile surface that ensures a confident grip on the monopod and your camera equipment. Moisture-wicking channels provide airflow to reduce sweat and minimize slippage
Reversible 1/4"-20 to 3/8"-16 Mounting Thread
A reversible mounting thread allows you to quickly switch between 1/4"-20 or 3/8"-16 with a simple twist of the head plate. Flip the reversible 1/4"-20" & 3/8"-16 threaded stud adapter to attach or exchange a camera, lens collar, or any type of head in just moments
Interchangeable Rubber and Spike Feet
When out and about you never know what the terrain may be when you need to take a shot. Robus RCM monopods include a spike and rubber foot, which help stabilize your rig on any hard or soft surface you may encounter
Wrist Strap with Integrated Belt Clip
The attached wrist strap makes it easy to secure the monopod with your wrist when your hand is on the grip. The integrated belt clip provides an option to secure the monopod to your waist when not in use and keeps it handy for when you need it

Robus SBM-001 Stabilizing Base for Monopods

The SBM-001 Stabilizing Base for Monopods from Robus screws into most monopods with a 3/8"-16 threaded socket and offers enhanced stability while shooting with a monopod. The three folding legs open and lock into place when it's time to shoot, then conveniently fold up along the monopod for easy transport. Nonslip rubber feet provide extra traction on slick surfaces like gym floors or pool decks. The integrated ball joint allows the camera to be swiveled and tilted without losing the advantage of the monopod's stability. The ball joint lock prevents the monopod from tilting under a heavy load for greater control and can lock to a fixed position for extra control and stability. The ball joint's friction control allows the base's flexibility to be adjusted to suit the weight of the camera and lens combination. The legs unlock with the push of a button for rapid deployment, then fold up along the monopod, adding only minimal length to the rig. When removed from the monopod, these lightweight legs fold up to a compact 6.3", so they'll easily fit into a gear bag, back pack, or even a jacket pocket.

    Robus RCM-633 Reviews

    Great Quality

I use a monopod a lot for my work in sports with long lenses. This is a very solid and well made monopod, yet is very light and collapses small to fit my backpack. I came to B&H and physically looked at every monopod they had and this was the best choice. As good or better than much higher priced monopods. Highly recommended.

    Sturdy and a solid value!

My old monopod wasn't up to the task for some of my heavier gear so I was looking to get something that can bear a bit more weight. The RCM-633 was a great choice for me. The 33 lb weight capacity is more than enough for my needs and when paired with a Wimberley MH-100 head, it's a lightweight powerhouse of a monopod.

Is the base stable enough to walk away from (hands-free) with a Sony A7 IV with Tamron 28-75mm?
    Asked by: martin
You can go hands-free. However, I would not step away from it. As a light gust will knock it over. I would not use it for long exposures.

Can the Robus SBM-001 Stabilizing Base (BH #ROSBM001, MFR #SBM-001) be mounted on the top of the monopod (i.e., to use the monopod "upside down")?
    Asked by: Trevor
As a follow-up, I just bought the RCM-633 6-Section Monopod with the SBM-001 Stabilizing Base, and you can indeed mount the monopod upside down! I'm very happy with this setup, and will be using it to shoot 360° photos.

Will the 33lb version be strong enough for a Canon R5 and RF 600mm f4? It weighs far less than 33 lbs!
    Asked by: Leah Beth
I may work ok but with a 600mm with its length I would suggest buying one of the top Gitzo monopods, which is what I use for my R3 with a 600mmf4
