AVMATRIX SE1217 Reviews

It's decent

I had to reset a brand new in the box model and then bam, it showed up to log in on my network thru a web browser. It does decent but don't expect more than 30 fps even though you can do up to 60 in the menu. I couldn't get it to not choke on the extra frames but running 30 fps at 1080 and about 5-6mbps looks really clean on regular AVC H264. H265 at half that bitrate looks good too but I had the same FPS problem SRT works well and you can set it to stream multiple types at once (srt, RTMP, etc) to different locations. It's been reliable and fires up/connects as soon as I have power to it. Buy it on sale.

No doubt...

I have no doubt that this product will be able to do what I need it to do. However, I have not been able to get into the admin menu after a week of playing with it. First, the instructions were online. Not a bad thing mind you, but it was a minor inconvenience to navigate to the right support page. Probably the most nightmarish thing though, is that the item is configured for an IP address that has happened to remain static. The instructions say that the IP address should reconfigure based on DHCP, but that has not been my experience. Running nmap to find the device on the internal network proved futile in finding the correct open port 80 or 443. I have a couple of other options in mind to get it to work (use my home network that uses the same subnet or plug it into a workstation and build a virtual net to talk to it). Kinda wish it had a USB port to remedy these kind of issues.
