Looking at streaming to YouTube with limited bandwidth. I'd like to use H.265 to retain visual quality but that is only available on YouTube livestreams with HLS ingest. I see this device supports HTTP streaming, is that the same as HLS (.m3u8)?
HTTP and HLS are, indeed, synonymous.

Can I send video from my Dji pocket 2 to this device through RMTP and take the HDMI out to my switcher for live streamiing? Is that even possible with this device?
The AVMatrix SE1217 H.265/264 HDMI Streaming Encoder, is intended to take an HDMI input and encode it for streaming. As the DJI Pocket 2 does not feature an HDMI output, it would not be compatible as an input to this encoder.

Via SRT does this send SEI timecode so that multiple of these units can be used for multi-camera sync at a remote switcher?
The AVMATRIX SE1217 H.265/264 HDMI Streaming Encoder does not support SEI timecode via SRT. It can not be used as a Sync generator.

will this simply do just a horizontal flip to a video feed? the use case is Sony A7S3 HDMI out SE1217 Input (flips the image horizontally) - outputs 1080p 30p to a blackmagic atem mini?
As of 1/5/2022 - this device is only capable of the horizontal flip through the Main Stream and not the HDMI through which means it's not useful for us. However, we are in contact with the manufacturer and are investigating whether they can apply the flip on the HDMI through. Will update accordingly.
