This controller does everything it says it will do and makes the viewing experience with my Sky-Watcher Virtuoso GTI 150P a whole lot of fun. The tour of known celestial objects is particularly enjoyable as I can take my grandkids on a tour with the touch of a button. I’ve read some other reviews saying that the up/down buttons don’t work correctly. They are probably using the wrong ones. There are up/down buttons for slewing the scope, and separate up/down buttons for scrolling through the menus on the controller. I have had zero problems with ANY of the buttons. Everything works great right out of the box. The unit I received was well packaged in bubble wrap and double boxed. Well done, B&H.

Can this be used with the other two tripods... the Sky Watcher S21140 and the S21170... instead of the WIFI Phone links? I need a wired hand controller.
The Sky-Watcher SynScan v5 Hand Controller Will work with the Sky-Watcher AZ-GTe GoTo AZ Mount (BH #SKAZGTE • MFR #S21140). However the Sky-Watcher SolarQuest Motorized Alt-Azimuth Solar Telescope Mount (BH #SKSQM • MFR #S21170) cannot be used with this hand controller.

Sometimes during overseas shipping a film develops on the contacts. Take a pencil eraser and rum the battery contacts in the unit. Also check with Sky-Watcher if there has been any firmware updates.
