FeelWorld LUT7 PRO Overview

The LUT7S PRO 7" Ultra Bright HDMI/3G-SDI Field Monitor from FeelWorld features a sharp 323 ppi display and supports SD, HD, UHD, and DCI 4K video. This HDMI monitor has an integrated L-series battery slot and comes with a dummy battery plate that allows you to mount and power optional accessories, such as wireless transmitters or receivers with an L-series battery slot. The LCD panel boasts a 1920 x 1200 resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio, 1200:1 contrast ratio, and a 2200 cd/m² measured brightness for easy viewing outdoors as well as indoors. The touchscreen allows you to quickly access your settings, and the IPS LCD provides good off-axis viewing, allowing you to see the image without being directly in front of the monitor and not experiencing distorted colors or contrast.

On the bottom edge of the monitor, you'll find HDMI and SDI input and output connections, with the headphone output residing on the edge. Along the bottom edge is a 1/4"-20 threaded mounting hole and power output port, while control buttons reside along the top edge of the monitor.

The LUT7S PRO supports custom 3D LUTs to accurately view the camera color on screen, uploaded via an integrated SD card slot on the side, and it supports professional Rec. 709 color calibration technology. A variety of image evaluating tools are built into the monitor including a histogram, false color, and zebras for checking exposure, peaking and magnification for checking focus, and markers for ensuring correct framing.

Accessory Mounting and Power
The L-series mounting plate allows you to directly attach and power accessories, such as a wireless transmitter or receiver, to the back of the monitor using the accessories L-series battery slot.
Battery
The single rear battery slot is compatible with Sony L-series batteries.
FeelWorld uses the professional Rec. 709 HD color standard and is calibrated at the factory. It can achieve monitor calibration efficiently and get accurate color reproductions easily, showing the image when you shoot without distorting the color.
The menu controls are intuitive and easy to use via the touchscreen. Two different feature buttons are programmable to the various features you use the most.
The compact design includes 4K HDMI and 3G-SDI input/output, so you can connect them to 4K cameras and DSLRs. The HDMI connection is compatible with up to 4K24.
Load custom 3D LUTs using the integrated SD card slot.
Histogram is a quantitative tool to check the picture brightness.
The audio level meters provide numerical indicators and headroom levels.
The peaking filter displays a colored highlight on the screen where sharp edges appear.
Built-in selection of no-squeeze, 1.3x, or 2x allows you to use anamorphic lenses or adapters and see the image unsqueezed, even if your camera does not de-squeeze in-camera.

Great image but poor quality build

I'm a reality TV cinematographer and got this as a field monitor for producers to look at. For its price, the image quality and brightness is fantastic on this thing. It outshines a SmallHD monitor image in direct sunlight. That's where the positives end for my use-case. The build quality feels poor. I cracked the screen simply by tightening screws on a cage too much. The entire monitor gets worryingly hot after operating for a few minutes. The F970 plate was very appealing to me. It seemed like the perfect mounting/power solution for a wireless receiver. I own a Mars 400s Pro which unfortunately does not attach properly. I can mount it, and the contact points will partially enter enough to power the device but the receiver is barely secure and will not snap into place properly. A different wireless product may not have this issue, but don't expect this F970 mount to work universally as expected. Features I wish it had: - side handles - 2 1/4 mounting points on all sides for more secure mounting - Mounting points for a Gold Mount Battery plate

It's not a SmallHD but it sure is bright!

I've only had a half dozen field monitors. When working in bright sunlight I couldn't easily see the image with any degree of clarity with any of them. This one is super bright. The price was pretty reasonable too. May not be my favorite in terms of features, menu, or accuracy, but it sure let's me see the frame to compose and focus.

If I had a signal from an SDI wireless to this device, could it also passthrough the video through hdmi to a larger tv?

No it can not. This monitor does not cross convert from SDI to HDMI. if you go in via SDI you have to go out via SDI.

No, touch screen is only to drive the display UI and can be used as an input device and will support the following formats. Greetings! I just purchased and received the FeelWorld LUT7S PRO 7" Ultra Bright HDMI/3G-SDI Field Monitor with F970 Plate. I'm not getting any audio out of the 3.5mm jack. I did the full range of troubleshooting. I used the SDI and HDMI outputs from the camera, and the picture is great, the audio meter is showing the proper modulated signal, but no sound from the headphones. Yes, the headphones are good. I went into the menu on this monitor and enabled the Embedded Audio. Hmmm, what's up?

I just bought this thing and it works on my ...

I just bought this thing and it works on my consumer vdeo camera and my dslr but with my new canon XF400 it only works if the camera is in the XF-AVC mode and not the MP4 mode. AND only in 60p. If I try in mp4 30p is says there is no HDMI signal. It also gets extremely hot. Is this unit defective?

The display will get hot at max brightness. Also you should check your output and see if it matches what the display will accept as framerates. They are essentially the same monitor but the Pro version makes mounting and powering accessories easier. The standard vision has 2 battery slots for powering the monitor for extended periods of time. the Pro Version swaps out one of the battery slots for a dummy battery. This allows you to mount and power accessories that use NP-F Style batteries at the same time. An example of this is a wireless transmitter. On the LUT 7 Monitor you would need to purchase an articulating arm to mount the transmitter and an additional battery to power it. On the LUT 7 Pro you could mount the transmitter on the NP-F dummy battery built into the monitor solving both the mounting and powering at the same time.
