Paper roll is defective

Roll is out of round and jams against the roll cover and binds up so that the printer plotter does not recognize the roll is inserted. have ordered and used the 300 foot roll in the past with no problem. I suspect the tube is out of round. This roll was also packaged not as well as others in the past.
