Like new, will need some practice

I bought this lens used through B&H (rated 9+) to complement my 28mm and 50mm Leica lenses. I was glad it arrived in the original box and leather lens cover. It really is like new and arrived 2 days after order. My first few pictures were indoors and was surprised to see the auto-ISO at 25000. I then realized I had auto-shutter at 1/(4f), so 1/360th @ f2. This was much higher than my shorter lenses, so something I will need to get used to if I continue to use auto functionality on my M11. I later tried 1/250th shutter speed with no issue in sharpness. I still need to put it through its paces more, but so far is living up to my expectations of a Leica APO lens. As much as some claim this lens is long and heavy, to me it is not that bad at all. Since the 90mm OVF frame lines are pretty small, the lens barely blocks the bottom right corner. It is a very gloomy day today. I'm looking forward to taking it out when the weather is much nicer so I can take bright, low ISO pictures to really see how sharp it is. Overall, the fit and finish is perfect. The hood is stable and the focus ring is not too dampened.

I primarily shoot street photography with a Q or an M10 + 28 mm or 21 mm which produce images packed with energy and feeling. The 35 mm and 50 mm lengths don't do that for me. However, the 90 mm AA does with its incredible sharpness and magical bokeh. For portraits and landscapes, this lens inspires my creativity and enables me to create memorable images. You may think that you need to shoot this lens wide open, but the narrow depth of field at f/2 can be a challenge to focus if you have middle aged eyes. Getting the right diopter correction for the M helps as does gently rocking forward and backward until the image pops in the viewfinder. The best advice, however, is to shoot at f/4, which still produces class-leading bokeh yet has the just the right depth of field to render the subject with sharpness and separation from the background.

The 55mm filter ring inside my lens broke in a fall. It appears to be a small ring that threads into the lens barrel and also serves as a stop to prevent the integrated hood from sliding off. WHERE can I purchase this replacement part?!
You are correct about the ring. It has inside and outside threads on the same ring (it's an adapter). If you don't have a local camera shop that deals in Leica kit then I would contact the Leica service center. There is a replacement part number for it. Look in the booklet that came with the lens if I remember correctly. Even without the part number they will be able to look it up.

Yes, this lens would obstruct the viewfinder a bit. Does it obstruct the frame lines? Less so. This can be a difficult question to answer because different people will have a different definition of how much viewfinder blockage is acceptable. The Leica Visoflex is always a good consideration when using lenses like these. B&H # LEVSB, Leica cat # 18767.
