Pana-Vue Pana-Scan Reviews

Low Quality Images

It Is Easy To Use, But The Quality Of The Scans Is Poor (they Look Slightly Out Of Focus). I Can Get Better Results Using A Viewer And My Cell Phone. Also It Does Crop 35mm Slides A Little. If You Have Any 127 Slides (which Are 40mm X 40mm), It Will Crop Quite A Bit. Also I Don't Think The 21 MP Mode Is Any Better Than The 14MP Mode. So If You Want To Get Slides Onto Your Computer, This Works, But Don't Expect Too Much.

Does the job

I was looking for a way to scan my parents many slides. This does the job. You have to feed in the slides 1 at a time but it goes pretty quickly. I transfered them onto a card and then edited on my computer. I am not a photo buff and searching for a high quality product. I just wanted to put the slides in a more usable state. The slides are from the 1950's to 1980's and some are deteriorating. If you have reasonable expectations this product is sufficient. The only thing I miss is a way to label the slide image so I know what it is and when it was taken.

Wondering about level of JPG compression. File resolution is stated at 22MP (interpolated 4200 dpi) or 14MP (direct 3200 dpi), but what are the actual jpg file sizes (in Mb)?
Asked by: Nicholas
Unfortunately the level of compression is not specified for this scanner. File sizes will vary based on what is scanned. 22MP scans will typically be around 7MB. 14MP scans will typically be around 4MB.
