[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have an old sigma 1.4 30mm lens, and wanted to attach it to my EOS R camera, but with the original canon adapter that doesn't work because the old lens makes the wrong communication, and the camera doesn't even work than. Now I bought the Urth EF to RF adapter, and because it has no contacts at all, there can be no mis-communication, and so I can use the lens manual focus, and only with aperture in fully open position, but that is fine with me because I like the lens for portraits with blurry background. Good Solution!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good adapter for a cheap price. While it lacks basic amenities such as autofocus, it still delivers a high quality photo. A day after ownership, I am switching over to the canon adapter due to the fact that it does have autofocus.

Is it manual focus only? Will it avoid the 1.6x crop when using an EF-S lens?
The Urth Manual Lens Mount Adapter for Canon EF/EF-S Lens to Canon RF-Mount Camera Body is fully manual. Aperture and focus would be fully manual. The camera will not automatically crop as it does not know what lens is being mounted. That being said, an EF-S lens is not designed to cover a full frame sensor and you may experience heavy vignetting if you do not crop. Additionally Canon EF-S lenses do not have any manual aperture control, so the lens aperture will not be able to be adjusted.
