This gear will allow you to use the SmallRig Mini Follow Focus 3010 with a variety of lens sizes that have 0.8 MOD focus gears or when using a lens gear ring. The gears on the Mini Follow Focus are interchangeable, so they can be swapped out for different-size gears.

It makes up perfectly for my need to quickly shift focus over a larger range.

Needed for Longer throw lenses

The SmallRig mini follow focus has a smaller turning grip. I found myself having to take my hand off the wheel and turn it more to get from one end of the focus to the other. Which won't work if you have to pull a long focus while recording. Having the large gear makes the process workable despite the smaller grip. Or, make it work like you'd expect a larger gripped follow focus to work. Seems overpriced, but it works well. Hence the 4 stars. I think it should have just come in the original packaging of the mini follow focus...like most other manufactures of follow focuses do.
