YoloLiv YoloBox Pro Reviews

Love the Yolobox

I've had the previous regular Yolobox unit and have loved the ability to live stream via cell signal. I was told to get a sim card from Mint Mobile which resolved some connectivity issues I had. It's worked flawlessly ever since. I'm happy to add this second system to my toolbox so we can live stream to jobs at once.

Constant firmware updates from YoloLiv. Feature packed device that is perfect for live streaming. One day this might replace something like a LiveU if YoloLiv can incorporate network bonding into this device. Very cool!

Perfect for our church

Yolobox Pro review. We use this to livestream our church services. Great for the small space we have next to our sound board. Only use for Facebook live and haven't tried to use the Yololiv server. Did have one problem when Facebook made some changes that affected the app, but the Yolobox people worked that out in a few hours. Customer service has been very good so far, via the Facebook chat page. Formatting to fat32 for the sd card was a bit of a pain but figured it out. Our Livestream is much improved, and going direct from our sound board has worked perfectly. We had no experience with any of this and figured it out pretty easily on our own. Arrived from B&H promptly. Great product lots of good YouTube vids as well. Very happy.

2-3 lockups every time we used it. Accessible support but no fix. Getting rid of this, tried for nearly 3 months.

Its so tiny

Last year I purchased the ATEM Extreme Pro ISO to do live streaming. To make it work I ordered a portable monitor, a small rack box, a power adapter, a travel router, and about 85734563 HDMI cables. This YoloLiv does all of that but it is a fraction of the size. Plus this guy includes a SIM slot so I could just drop in a phone sim and I was off to the races for live streaming. The size difference is just so enormous. The biggest thing I'm going to miss from the ATEM setup is recording every camera at the same time. I think that would be fantastic on this little device. Also the ATEM supports 8 inputs instead of 3 and a half. I will be keeping both setups and using them as needed. But I have to say, this Yolobox is going to get a lot of use this year. I have already been using it in my home studio and have really enjoyed it for recording. I will be live streaming several events with it in the next 30 days and am really looking forward to how simple the setup and breakdown is going to be. I will basically build my camera rigs and the Yolobox rig at home, throw them in a box which I can carry in all at once (instead of making two trips to the car and assembling everything on site because it was too big to carry pre-built). This thing is so small that I'm considering using it in non-traditional locations. Such as live streaming a wedding/elopement on the side of a mountain. Anyways, so far it is 2 thumbs up. I'm sure there are improvements they could continue to make. I'm looking forward to the rumored speedify official integration.

Sour Initial Impression

I was really excited about this device - however due to an engineering failure my first impression has soured me on the device. The issue? No charger is included with the device. This normally wouldn't be an issue as everyone one has USB-C chargers now days EXCEPT Yolobox won't work with any of them. If they are going to have such a finicky product they should INCLUDE a charger that WILL WORK. Yolobox completely tainted the initial impression with the shortcoming - truly and engineering failure.

can i connect cameras wirelessly or with wifi?
Asked by: ritt
No it can not connect to your cameras wirelessly. If you want your cameras to be wireless you will need to purchase an wireless transmitter/receiver set for each camera. An example of this is the Hollyland Mars 300 Dual HDMI Wireless Video Transmitter & Receiver Set (B&H # HOMARS300 MFR # MARS 300). In this scenario the transmitter sends the video to the receiver and the receiver is plugged into the Yolobox via HDMI.

I did stream at 1080P with 25 frames per second for about 1 hour and 11 minutes with 5Mbps and it generated me a file of 2.76 GBytes. Expect about 3 GBytes per hour. As you can use SD cards up to 128 GBytes, you can record a whole lot before your card fills up.

The Sandisk cards you have are adequate for recording 1080p. On a 64GB card, even when encoding at 24 Mbps, you should be able to record up to 320 minutes of footage.
