Mitakon Zhongyi 17mm T1 Cine Reviews
Absolute, Unequivocal Garbage!

I wish I would have tested THIS lens a bit more the day I received it. I bought the four lens set, 17, 25, 35 and 50. As another reviewer had discovered, this lens will not focus to infinity! Nowhere near it! I can't believe I didn't test this feature out the day I received it! Now I must go back and check every other Mitakon Zhongyi lens in this set to see if the others also have infinity focusing issues. And if they do, well, I'm afraid I now own a very expensive set of paper weights! I have myself to blame. Never again will I rush through a thirty day testing period.

The Mitakon Zhongyi 17mm T1 Speedmaster Cine Lens (MFT) will be 17mm on the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K. If curious about the crop factor compared to a full-frame sensor, it will be 30mm.

How sharp is this lens full opened?
How sharp is this lens full opened?
When you have it wide open (T1-1.4) it will feel more like a vintage lens. It will be ok in terms of sharpness and have low contrast. Around T2 you will notice that it will get more contrast and get sharper. The lens performs its best in regards to sharpness and contrast between T4 and T5.6.
