Extend the grip on your Sony FX3 XLR handle and add accessories using this Extension Rig from SmallRig. The durable aluminum rig extends the length of the FX3 XLR handle unit by 1.2". It provides multiple 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 ARRI-style accessory threads, a shoe mount, and a NATO rail. The rig installs onto the back of the handle using two included 1/4"-20 screws, and the NATO rail is removable.

As is usual for SmallRig, the quality is outstanding. Since it's metal (and the Sony handle is plastic), it's literally more robust that OEM. Clearly the team who designed this also films, because they've crammed a lot of customization options into every square mm. I bought it mainly for the nato rail on top (so I could mount the Zacuto Micro Boom properly), but the cold shoe on the back, extra space to grip the handle, and threads on the top have proved invaluable. This is how the handle should have come from Sony. If you're even slightly considering this, get it. You won't be disappointed.
