ASUS PN51 Mini Overview

Bring tailored performance to small spaces with the barebone PN51 Mini Desktop Computer from ASUS. Featuring a 2.1 GHz AMD Ryzen 5 5500U 4-core CPU for powerful processing, this mini desktop computer sports two 260-pin SO-DIMM slots supporting up to 64GB of 3200 MHz DDR4 RAM. An M.2 2280 slot and a 2.5" SATA III bay provide space for user-installed storage drives. Integrated AMD Radeon graphics ensure immersive visuals, and a dual-mic array and IR receiver allow for voice and remote control.

Connect wired peripherals via three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports and two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports, one supporting power delivery and both supporting DisplayPort Alt Mode. Or, pair to wireless accessories via Bluetooth 5.2. Go online with Wi-Fi 6 or via an RJ45 port supporting 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet. Supporting up to four displays at once, the PN51 can output video via USB Type-C, DisplayPort 1.2, and HDMI 2.0. An integrated microSD card reader allows for easy access to compatible memory cards. Tested to rigorous standards for reliability, this miniature desktop computer also features an integrated SSD heatsink and reactive cooling.

Plus, the small footprint allows for easy deployment on a desk or in tight places where larger computers won't fit, from digital signage kiosks to home theater setups.
Performance
Compared with traditional same-tier mobile processors, the PN51's 2.1 GHz AMD Ryzen 5 5500U 4-core CPU delivers a whole-system performance uplift of up to 20.2%, and an up to 58.2% improvement for daily multitasking.
4K and Quad Display Support
The ASUS PN51 supports up to four displays with 4K resolution through HDMI, DisplayPort, and DisplayPort over dual USB Type-C and a user-configurable port, with no restriction on the combination. Please note, supporting 4K resolutions across four displays requires at least two 16GB 3200 MHz DDR4 RAM modules.
Realistic 4K Support
This miniature desktop also supports 4K UHD monitors through DisplayPort 1.2 output, resulting in detail that's four times greater than traditional Full HD output. The PN51 also supports 8K resolutions through its DisplayPort over USB Type-C ports, which feature DisplayPort 1.4 Dual-Mode (DP++). Please note, outputting video in DisplayPort Dual-Mode requires a DP++-compatible display.

You can even attach this computer to the back of a display with a VESA mount for a space-saving, all-in-one solution.
Efficient SSD Heatsink
An integrated SSD heatsink prevents the M.2 drive from overheating, ensuring durability and reliability and potentially saving on maintenance costs.
Seamless Media Experiences
This mini desktop supports HDMI CEC and has a built-in IR sensor, allowing you to manage media devices, audio and video playback, menu navigation, and more via a single remote control.

A dual-microphone array is also present, supporting Microsoft Cortana when used with compatible operating systems. The array mic ensures accurate voice control, even in noisy conditions.
Reactive Cooling
To ensure stable performance, The ASUS PN51 has dedicated thermal monitoring for the SSD. It also has numerous preset cooling policies to cater to a diverse variety of scenarios. With whole-system cooling, the fan speed is automatically adjusted according to the M.2 SSD temperature, achieving better heat dissipation. Additionally, three thermal policies are offered in the BIOS, so you're free to choose the one that best suits your usage situation.
Reduce Environmental Impact and Operating Costs
This computer's energy efficient design reduces environmental impact while helping to lower operating costs. Eco-friendly, the PN51 consumes as little as 9 watts at idle. It's also designed for quiet operation, emitting just 21.9 dBA of noise at idle and 34.7 dBA at full load.
ASUS Business Manager
The ASUS Business Manager software suite provides exclusive features for the PN51 Mini. Designed for businesses that lack adequate IT support, it simplifies the processes of management and maintenance.
USB Port Management and Administration Security
The PN51 offers UEFI-level management of USB ports, so they're easy to selectively enable or disable. An admin password can also be applied to ensure that only authorized users are able to access the system's security settings.
Tested for Reliability
ASUS Mini PCs undergo rigorous noise, vibration, drop, and thermal-shock tests to ensure they meet exacting ASUS standards and exceed industry requirements. As a result, your ASUS mini computer can cope with extreme conditions for extended periods, ranging from dry -40°F temperatures to humid and hot environments exceeding 140°F.

USB 3.2 Gen 2
Doubling the speed of its predecessor, USB 3.2 Gen 2 features a maximum throughput of 10 Gb/s when used with compatible devices and is synonymous with USB 3.1 Gen 2.
