A leap forward in professional-quality aerial imaging, the Mavic 3 from DJI is their flagship drone that offers a dual-camera setup in a 3-axis gimbal. There's the 20MP wide-angle camera with 4/3" CMOS from legendary camera maker Hasselblad and a 12MP telephoto with 1/2" CMOS, 4K video, and 28x hybrid zoom. You can utilize the telephoto in Explore Mode to scout locations, but its primary function is to be used in conjunction with the wide-angle Hasselblad, transitioning between the two for truly dynamic, cinematic results.

The video quality of the wide-angle Hasselblad on the Mavic 3 offers up to 5.1K resolution and DCI 4K at 120 fps. The 12.8 stops of dynamic range and an adjustable aperture from f/2.8 to f/11 open up the drone's ability to handle nearly any lighting condition and deliver low-light footage with less noise. Add in vision sensor-based VDAF focusing and an 84° FOV, and you can capture sweeping, atmospheric shots or track and focus on subjects with ease. To complete the Mavic 3's powerful imaging abilities, 10-bit D-Log Color Profile and Hasselblad's NCS (Natural Color Solution) are employed for natural and accurate color reproduction.

To support these exceptional imaging capabilities and the pilots who will capture them, DJI packed the Mavic 3 with technologies to get the most out of each shoot. Multiple features allow you to create flight paths, auto-track subjects, and perform complex aerial maneuvers with a tap. While doing all of this, an omnidirectional obstacle sensing system and APAS 5.0 work to ensure a collision-free flight. Add in up to 46 minutes of flight time, a transmission range of up to 9.3 miles, and a folding design, and you have a powerful platform that's ideal for everything from tech-obsessed amateur photographers to professional production houses.

Hasselblad Natural Color Solution

The result of Hasselblad's many decades of experience, the HNCS starts from the pixel level of the sensor. Every pixel is calibrated with RGB color data being passed through an image processing algorithm and color processing mode while filming. The result is content containing precise and natural color reproduction, all without the need for color presets.

Advanced RTH

A great day in the air filming your latest passion project is only complete when the Mavic 3 comes back safe and sound. DJI's Advanced RTH (Return to Home) feature is designed to ensure that happens on every flight. Returning to its starting point can be triggered by you or if there is a signal loss. On its way back, the Mavic 3 plots the optimal route home, avoiding obstacles along the way.

Live View

When piloting with the included RC-N1 remote and your compatible smartphone, the Mavic 3 can live stream the camera's view back to you at up to 1080p60 resolution. This not only lets you proof footage at Full HD quality, but it also assists with more responsive control of the drone.

Extreme Precision Positioning

The Mavic 3 is engineered to hold its position in the air extremely steadily, benefiting pilots trying to take clean long-exposure or time-lapse shots.

DJI Mavic 3 Reviews

Grossly overpriced!

I've owned every DJI Phantom and Mavic (also Inspire 2 and DJI FPV), I paid about $5,000 for Cine combo and additional $600 for DJI Care. Without a doubt this is the worst bang for your buck DJI drone in recent years. The only advantages include: 1) Flight time (Definitely not 46min but about 6min more than Mavic 2 Pro) 2) DJI RC Pro (overpriced at $1,200 but enough nits for sunlight flights with decent range) There is almost no discernible difference between H.264 / H.265 and ProRes, trust me.. you might be able to push the content a tiny bit further in post but it's marginal at best. I'm professional user and I can tell you with certainty the vast, vast majority of users would be far better off buying Mavic Air 2S, that's far better value for money and if I were to show you the footage side by side I seriously doubt anyone would be able to discern Mavic 3 footage from Mavic Air 2S unless it's low light... maybe. We waited almost 4 years for DJI to go from Mavic 2 Pro (great drone) to Mavic 3 and it was a complete disappointment at $5,000 to say the least. Not even API or mechanical shutter... :( Anyway, that's my 2 cents

The best Drone yet!

I have only had the Mavic 3 Cine for a few days, but I had the Mavic 2 Pro with Smart Remote for 3 years and before that the original Mavic and a few Phantoms before that. It is my opinion the DJI Mavic lineup is the best flying camera platform available on the market today. The images from the 4/3 sensor are a nice step up from the 1 sensor on the M2Pro. Maybe full frame next

Almost Perfect!

I recently purchased the M3 after having destroyed my M2Pro when high winds took it into a tree on a recent job. Pilot error, I should not have been flying in that type of weather. My results so far have been amazing after figuring out a major issue with processing DNG photos. I had MAJOR vignetting on all 4 corners of the images. I contacted DJI and they were very sorry for my problem and turned it over to "the engineers". I process 5 exposure brackets for each photo and use Photomatix HDR. I contacted Photomatix and they informed me that the images should be processed using Photoshop and changing the photos to Tiff files first. I used Lightroom first to see if that would work instead. I processed lens corrections and converted to Tiff on export. After running them through Photomatix this time, all vignetting was gone. I had beautiful images to process in Lightroom for my final file. I will update this review if I find any other issues. So far, I am very happy with my purchase and the delivery was next day for less than $20!

A rushed to market beta that's overwhelming DJI support

While the specs are incredible on paper, it's likely you might be like so many others and break the unit before you can capture anything valuable. In Normal mode, my device freaked out and flew up and hit a redwood tree trying to figure itself out (it seems it could not interpret negative elevation change) During the crash, my gimble bushing was lost but luckily the unit survived. The most interesting part is now, I can't get a simple gimble bushing without sending my device in for service. Another telling point here is that I waited for 6hrs for an online tech, and then 4 days later for someone to contact me - If we do the math and look at YT, we can easily infer that this is likely due to the number of problems they're seeing due to a rushed release of both the hardware and the firmware. I think it goes without saying here that companies are feeling the pressure to release early and often and this is causing consumers to get smart and wait before buying -- I know I won't ever buy 1st gen anything anymore, especially getting burned by this and the X1D that were both basically beta releases.

There is a problem with the drone!

The photos stored in the SD card are missing when the photos are taken, and there are unopened files of unknown format. Same goes for both SD cards! Return has been requested.

RC Pro Controller Not Pro

I'm a professional drone op. Waiting for a firmware update to improve the professional video use of the RC Pro controller. Still no LUT for Dlog or quick aperture control. Only flown once to test and knew immediately this thing couldn't work for a fast paced shoot.

Needs a firmware update

Great drone, sure, however a lot of essential features are still missing. For me the main drawbacks of the current firmware are that normal preview in D-Log mode, as well as the missing color temperature info are still missing on the main screen. Very hard to judge the correct exposure and color without those.

It should be 5 stars

I bought the cine drone and returned it after 2 weeks. This drone did not feel like a finished product, and they removed so many functions from the Mavic 2 Pro which made that drone great. Dont waste your money on the Cine version, you can't tell the difference between ProRes and H.265. It's crazy how much they're charging for the marginal upgrades or even downgrades in some cases. Please at least give us ProRes LT to record with. ProRes HQ is wayyyyyy overkill. We will see if they make firmware changes at the end of Januray to fix the many shortfalls, but I won't upgrade from the Mavic 2 Pro until they do. I guess we can all hope they will come out with the Mavic 3 Pro at some point but doubtful. DJI please rethink your actions, and at least please bring back Tripod Mode!
