Performance Powered by CyberPi
CyberPi is a powerful and versatile microcontroller for education, empowering skills in math, physics, and more. These lessons have a wide range of applications in future-friendly careers like computer science, robotics, data science, and artificial intelligence. Designed for students to carry out interactive curricula that are engaging and fun, the CyberPi features an on-board display and built-in WiFi for convenient and intuitive interaction. Its ESP32 microprocessor supports wireless communication with and operation of the mBot2 and is compatible with both block-based and Python coding for incremental education.
Precise Control and Response
While the CyberPi acts as the command center for the mBot2, several other components complete the educational experience by providing consistency when executing programs. The mBot2 Shield carries a built-in rechargeable battery and is highly versatile. It is compatible with various external accessories, including a wide range of parts available separately from Makeblock. This kit comes with a next-generation smart sensor for intelligent and accurate performance. The sensor detects objects using ambient illumination and utilizes four RGB sensor probes to properly analyze colors when programmed to follow specific lines. Encoder motors which drive the robot are precisely controlled and highly accurate, providing 1° detection accuracy, up to 200 rpm performance, and measurement of distance travelled.

I’ve been using the mBot2 for a while now, and I’m genuinely impressed. The programming experience is surprisingly easy, even for beginners, thanks to its intuitive interface and clear guidance. It’s a great tool for learning, and I find it truly educational — perfect for anyone who wants to explore robotics and coding in a hands‑on way. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the mBot2 and highly recommend it for both learning and fun.

I bought this robot as a Christmas gift for my son. A nice feature is that you can immediately play and drive without programming, so there is some instant gratification and fun after building. The blue tooth connects easily and reliably, the only exception is that you need to restart the robot when switching between apps. My son has used a Dash Robot in the past, he was immediately able to apply his blockly programming experience to this robot. My only criticism is that there are some legacy apps out there, and an older version of mBot that can cause some confusion in the app store. I'll add that my son is much younger than the suggested age (he's just turning 6), but autistic and very adept at numbers and programming. mBot2 has been really useful for getting him out of the computer and into the physical world. The big advantage over Dash, which has been great, is that the mBot universe seems to be able to expand a bit more to create additional and different robots with other kits. This expansion is why we added mBot2. I feel like we got very good quality and value for money with the purchase, and B+H is a great vendor with rapid, reliable service--we'll keep buying here.
