B&H has put together this QuickDraw / Straight Bracket & TTL Cord Kit to dramatically enhance your camera's flash capabilities in the blink of an eye.
The QuickDraw Rotating Flash Bracket from Vello positions your flash unit well above the camera body and can quickly and smoothly rotate the flash 90º as you switch from horizontal to vertical shooting. With the flash detached from the body you are less likely to get red-eye effect, and with the rotating mechanism the flash is always above the lens, eliminating side shadows and providing a balanced and effective illumination.
Five mounting holes on the camera platform allow for almost any camera to utilize the bracket. Choose the hole that best balances your camera and tighten it in place with the mounting knob. Attach the flash unit to the bracket's accessory shoe by loosening the red knob, inserting the flash into the accessory shoe and tightening. Connect your flash cable to the flash unit and wrap it around or secure it to the bracket arm and you are ready to shoot.
The flash arm rotates 180º with a smooth and easy flip for when you need to shoot vertical. The padded grip is a comfortable way to stabilize your camera when shooting and is strong enough to be used as a handle for the entire system when not shooting.
The accessory shoe can be positioned in one of two locations or unscrewed and removed to accommodate the Nikon SC-28 and SC-29 or other off-camera shoe cords.
The Vello CB-600 Straight Flash Bracket is a durable horizontal flash bracket that provides an additional shoe and 1/4"-20 screw that allow you to mount accessories such as lights, microphones, remote control, etc. alongside your camera. It has a 1/4"-20 screw to attach the bracket to the camera, a 1/4" socket to mount the bracket on a tripod, and a 1/4"-20 male screw with a shoe on top to attach a flash, LED light, microphone or any other shoe mount accessory. You can remove the top shoe to mount any accessory with a 1/4" socket. The camera mounting screw has a 3" adjustable rail, and the top of the bracket has a rubber surface to keep the camera from slipping.
The 3' Vello Off-Camera TTL Flash Cord provides creative photographers with the ability to remotely fire Canon flashes with E-TTL / E-TTL II capabilities. Removing the flash from the camera's hot shoe allows the photographer to create unique and dramatic lighting styles that are not possible with a traditional shoe-mounted strobe. This coiled cord measures 3', which is enough distance to accommodate hand-held lighting styles or when keeping the flash mounted on a compact flash bracket. Also, off-camera lighting reduces the harsh shadows commonly encountered with direct on-camera flashes and gives your photographs a more natural look.
One side of the TTL cable fits directly into the camera's hot shoe to ensure that all of the camera's exposure data is maintained. The other side can be attached to any stand, tripod, or device with a standard 1/4"-20 threaded stud or flash shoe mount, and the shoe has a locking knob to ensure your equipment is secure.
