Key Features
  • Smoothly Flips Flash Unit 90º
  • Keeps Flash Unit Always Above the Lens
  • Eliminates Red-eye and Side Shadows
  • Compatible with Most Cameras and Flashes
The QuickDraw Rotating Flash Bracket from Vello positions your flash unit well above the camera body and can quickly and smoothly rotate the flash 90º as you switch from horizontal to vertical shooting. With the flash detached from the body you are less likely to get red-eye effect, and with the rotating mechanism the flash is always above the lens, eliminating side shadows and providing a balanced and effective illumination.

Five mounting holes on the camera platform allow for almost any camera to utilize the bracket. Choose the hole that best balances your camera and tighten it in place with the mounting knob. Attach the flash unit to the bracket's accessory shoe by loosening the red knob, inserting the flash into the accessory shoe and tightening. Connect your flash cable to the flash unit and wrap it around or secure it to the bracket arm and you are ready to shoot.

The flash arm rotates 180º with a smooth and easy flip for when you need to shoot vertical. The padded grip is a comfortable way to stabilize your camera when shooting and is strong enough to be used as a handle for the entire system when not shooting.

The accessory shoe can be positioned in one of two locations or unscrewed and removed to accommodate the Nikon SC-28 and SC-29 or other off-camera shoe cords.

Solid bracket

Am using this with my. Ikon D850. Gets the speedlight up off the camera. It is very sturdy. However, like others suggest replace the plastic "bolts" that hold the camera with metal ones. Less than a dollar at a hardware store. One quarter inch X 20 threads. Do not know why Vello uses the plastic type. Have read reports of the material the grip is made with that it is not good. I find the grip to be fine. Have no problem with it. Overall this is well worth it's price. Do order the Vello 12 inch flash extension cable to go with it.

Flash bracket is well made. Holds to camera(s)

Unlike the straight bracket which requires a rubber D ring to hold the camera tightly in place, this bracket does not have that problem. Holds tight. The unit is will made, solid and well worth the price. An added plus is that this bracket can be attached to the bottom of a battery grip without problem. All in all, a good product with solid features. No issues. I own two (2).

hinge does not lock into place - but bracket was hackable

The hinge is rather loose and does not lock into position (e.g. horizontal vs. vertical), so a second hand may be needed to keep it in the desired orientation. Not good if the second hand is to be used for lens adjustments. The purchase was not in vain, though, since I removed the bar and hinge assembly, added a 13 steel extension to the handle piece, and attached the whole thing in upside down orientation to a camera cage. Now the bottom part can be used to hold the strobe. That's the lightest above-camera strobe bracket set-up that I was able to come up with, and it is quite solid also. It even has the original rubberized handle (now to be used with the left hand).

Update to one of my reviews.

In one of my reviews, I mentioned that the cold shoe does not slide. Still doesn't BUT the screw on the bottom DOES. Same thing, just in another location. Great product.

Will buy again.

Love this. I'm a short photographer and this gets the right flash without that "flash shadow".

Love it! I really like the soft grip, the ease to attach equipment to it, and its versatility. It also gives me a more stable feel when using the camera flash setup, with another grip to hold.

Can i mount this with gimbal head and Nikon d7100?
Asked by: Vasanthan J.
No, this flash bracket is not meant to be used with a gimbal head and would destabilize your equipment. However, there are several flash brackets made for this purpose, here is a link to a list of those available at B&H: https://bhpho.to/2n4kmfk

question

How do you attach a Nikon SC 28 or SC 29 to this unit?
Asked by: Anonymous
The cold shoe on the bracket comes off and there is a screw underneath. The SC-28 and SC-29 have a thread female thread on the bottom that will attach to the screw on top of the bracket.
