Solid connection and the hood stays put because of the button you push to take the hood off. That's all I ask for in a hood.
I bought this so I'd have it if/when I ever get the lens it goes to. So for now all I can say is it's a very nice lens hood I own. Hoping someday the actual lens is in stock so I can use it.
