SmallRig 3195 Overview

This lightweight aluminum Camera Cage from SmallRig protects and provides accessory mounting for your Nikon Z9 camera. This formfitting cage maintains access to the camera's controls, battery, and SD card slot, and it features a variety of mounting options. The camera secures into the cage using three screw points to prevent twisting, and rubber padding on the base protects and further secures the camera.

In addition to one shoe mount and multiple 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 accessory threads, the cage incorporates ARRI-style locating holes for preventing accessories from twisting when mounted. The cage also has a built-in Arca-type quick release plate on the bottom for tripod mounting.

Not a one-piece cage. Flimsy design.

Wish I had bought the Tilta cage. The SmallRig comes in pieces held together with small screws. If any screw fails, the whole cage collapses. The included screwdriver is soft metal that begs to strip. One cold shoe is included on the side but you need to buy the SmallRig shoe kit if you need more...and they mount at a 90 degree angle to the front of the camera.

Does anybody know if this cage fits to the NIKON D850, because SmallRig discontinued the model 2127 for the D850?

I'm very sorry to say that the SmallRig Camera Cage for Nikon Z9 will not support the Nikon D850 camera body. We recommend looking at Universal cage solutions. Will this also work with the z6 II and z7 II, with the mbn11 grip accessory?

No, it only fits the Nikon Z9. Its physically designed to fit the shape of the Z9.
