Is this adapter bi-directional? That is, can I connect display port from my computer video card to a USB-C monitor input as well as connect USB-C from my computer to a monitor's DP input?
No, unfortunately the StarTech USB Type-C to Display Port 8K Video Adapter would no be bi-directional it would require the USB-C connection from the host outputting device. It can however connect your USB-C port from your computer to a monitors Display Port input connection.

Is this an ACTIVE Display Port cable...does it have a chip? As opposed to a PASSIVE Display Port cable?
This StarTech USB Type-C to DisplayPort Cable is not an active cable.

Does anyone know what protocols and or video resolutions and frequencies this cable are capable of? Is it active or passive? Whats the available bandwidth?
