As soon as the usb power got connected and the light turned on, signal showed up on our 4k mini recorder card receiving the HDSDI output. Works like a charm!

It's Okay

Not overly impressed with the fit and finish, and it seems a bit pricey for such a basic function. Does not come with a 5v power supply. The input connectivity LED indicator is on the wrong side of the unit, making it awkward to troubleshoot connection issues. Meh.

Would this device work to connect a Pocket 6k via HDMI to a Live U mobile unit that only has SDI (for live broadcast)?
Asked by: Frederic
Yes the Black Magic converter would work. It would be HD only. The Pocket cameras only output in HD. Also please note the Blackmagic Design Micro Converter HDMI to SDI 12G requires a power supply to work.

I'm trying to connect a Canon C70 (HDMI Out only) -- converter HDMI to SDI -- Blackmagic UltraStudio Extreme -- Mac running DaVinci Resolve (or other capture software), And then trigger camera record from the computer. Will this work? Will the capture signal be properly sent to the camera?
Asked by: Kyle
The Canon C70 would only output a signal from its HDMI port. So the signal would be converted by the Black Magic 12G converter from HDMI to 12G SDI, Then sent to the Ultrastudio Extreme input for recording. Yes it would allow you to record the output of the C70.
