Designed 30% lighter than the original version, the MagBounce 2 is made to be even more efficient and easy to work with than before. This compact bounce modifier is like a small softbox that fits in your pocket. Attaching to your hot shoe flash via an optional MagGrip 2 accessory, the MagBounce 2 increases the apparent size of your flash by 300%, and its white silicone texture diffuses light without significantly decreasing output. The required MagGrip 2 accessory, sold separately, stretches, and secures over your flash head and lets you magnetically snap on the MagBounce. You can magnetically attach it in four different positions for varying portrait and landscape shots.

Yes, MagMod MagBounce 2 is an excellent choice for bounce light modifiers. It would provide clean direct light as well as wide angle distribution for aproximately 280°.

Would the MagBounce 2 be a better choice for macro work then the MagSphere2?

Both the MagBounce 2 and MagSphere 2 would be great for macro photography. Many photographers have used both with their macro photography. The MagBounce is more of a directional flash modifier where as the MagSphere is omni-directional meaning it will scatter and diffuse the light in all directions which is very beneficial in many circumstances.
