Weeylite S03 Overview

Add color and effects to your lighting setup with the S03-W Compact RGB LED Fill Light from Weeylite. This portable diffused light weighs only 2.5 oz and features an adjustable color temperature from 2800 to 6800K, 1 to 100% brightness adjustment, a CRI 95 rating for accurate color reproduction, and 360 RGB color adjustment to add creative colors to your scene.

The S03-W also features 20 built-in color and light effects such as lightning, candlelight, and police/fire/ambulance emergency lights to add even more depth and creativity to your production. It can be configured and controlled remotely via Bluetooth using a freely downloadable app for iOS and Android. The light is powered by an integrated 1000mAh lithium-ion battery that can be charged to full in approximately three hours using the included USB Type-C cable. At full brightness, the light lasts approximately one hour. The light can be mounted using its 1/4"-20 mounting thread with a separately available mount, stand, or articulating arm.

Not a fill light

I bought this to serve as a fill light to use during webcam sessions. It's too bright even when set to 2%, so I'll probably return it. The instructions warn not to aim the light at a subject's eyes, which also indicates that it can't be used as a fill light. I also dislike that all adjustments go through an app.

Stopped working 2nd time using it

Will not turn on. Shows that it's charged. Only the second time I've tried to use the light since buying it 6 months ago. Can no longer return. Disappointed. :-(

I'm answering my own question here 2 days later: On the outside of the box, there are 3 QR codes to scan. I had tried the android one (after learning to do a QR scan with new phone), that one didn't work for me. I then scanned the Google Playstore code, and it immediately downloaded to my smartphone, 'works beautifully! I had also already tried the Google Playstore app that shows a strobe icon, that worked too, but not quite as well. I love this little LED lite!!! I want more of them!

How do you know when the S03 is fully charged? There's no light indicator on the unit.

I found the answer to my question above, which was 4 days ago! OK, there is a tiny TINY light closest to the USB port, along with all the depressed design dots. If it's a steady light while charging, it's 100% full; 75%=2 flashes per second; 50%=3 per sec.; 25%=4 per sec.; 10%="Breathing Light" (slow-changing dark-to-bright, continuously.) Wah-Lah!!!

NOBODY in ANY Review speaks about any PROBLEMS ...

NOBODY in ANY Review speaks about any PROBLEMS with this light. Mine does nothing but flicker, I cannot get it to stop and just behave like all the videos show. I'm so disheartened by this. Obviously, if you read all the Q&A, I've put spectacular research to find answers to my questions. This one has ZERO leads in any info I've found: How to stop the flickering? Help! Please.

If the flickering is from the LED diodes itself, the easiest way to avoid flickering with lights and LEDs would be to slow your shutter speed down manually in Tv/S or Manual exposure mode to a shutter speed that is slower than the pulsation/frequency of the LED. Try a slower shutter speed and see if that helps!
