Using a "Tri-Titanium" alloy compromised of aluminum, magnesium, and titanium, the Slik 700DX Pro Tripod Legs has a strength-to-weight ratio 40% greater than comparable tripods in its class. It is a very professional unit whether you're concerned with strength, fit and finish, or refinement of operation. The rapid-type center column cannot rotate accidentally, and the lever locks work securely with a minimum of movement. The 700DX has foam-padded upper segments to ease carrying on your shoulder and working in the cold, and its simple angled rubber feet give a firm footing on a wide variety of surfaces.

SLIK 700DX Pro Reviews
Not great, not terrible.
I bought this thinking I wanted a tripod for a gimbal head and astrophotography, and this does those things pretty well. It's not exceptionally quick to set up, the levers have a tendency to close slightly when extending the legs which makes it more difficult to open. The dual lock for the center column doesn't feel incredibly secure and it isn't very quick to use. It's not great when getting dirty or wet, it takes on water and struggles to get rid of it, and I can tell I've taken it outside when extending the legs after only 3 or 4 uses. It's also fairly long when closed and not very light. ....but, it's tall and doesn't shake much, so if that's what you want, it's not a bad choice.
Solid Tripod
The Slik 700DX is a solid tripod. It is a heavy weight which I bought to use for astrophotography. A very stable platform for my Nikon and a 500mm lens. No wobbling when aiming the camera.
