Sharpest zoom lens I have ever owned

Extremely sharp! Sharper than my Canon EF 70-200 f4 L, which was the the standard I compared every zoom lens to. Build quality is excellent as well, all metal and weather-sealed. Amazingly capable 80-300mm Full Frame equivalent in a very compact lens for it's range. This is my sixth M. Zuiko lens for my OLY OM-D E-M1MKIII, 3 of them Pro lenses, and I think it's the best one yet! It will be on my camera a lot!

This new lens from OM System is certainly in a class by itself. It is small (4.25 long) very light and amazingly sharp. I am using it on my OM System OM-1 camera body and the combination is first rate.
The lens is extremely well made, zoom and focus rings are metal and extremely smooth rotating. Focus is fast and accurate. This lens fits neatly in my camera bag and is perfect for traveling.
Great when paired with the OM-1

40-150mm f/4 Pro (80-300mm equivalent) is a great pairing for the OM System OM-1. I find focus is very quick. The IBIS and BIF setting in the OM-1 make for many keepers for birds in flight shots. I was not sure f/4 would be fast enough, with the OM-1 ISO performance this is not an issue. I like knowing the f/4 aperture is throughout the entire focal length range. The size of this lens makes it easy to use as a walk-about lens, small and light.
The lens I have been waiting for!

This lens is small (4 long), lightweight (13.5 oz), quick focusing and captures very sharp images.

An extension lens like the 8-25 mm. Very sharp and conveniently compact. In-body OM-1 stabilization takes care of most handheld needs. F/4 depth of field can be an advantage. Will use for medical survey research in SE Asia. Well suited to field work under adverse conditions.
Size is good.

Good lens, works well for travel, not the sharpest I've seen, but at the end of the day it does what I need.

If you want a well built, light weight lens in this focal length, this is a great lens. Compared to the olympus 2.8, this lens is an f stop slower but for my purposes that doesn't matter. Image quality is comparable and it is so much lighter. It fits perfectly in my domke f6. What do you give up: manual focus clutch (not a big deal if you program a handy button for manual focus), tripod ring and the ability to use olympus teleconvertors (I do miss that). Also background bokeh is not as blurred as the 2.8 can deliver.
On balance, I prefer the new f4 to the 2.8 and consider it to be a take anywhere lens. That means I will use it more which is a good thing. B&H delivered this to my door two days after I ordered it!!!!

My OM System 40-150mm F/4 Pro lens went on its first outing last week. I am quite pleased with the results. Sharpness is very good, and the alleged softness at full zoom cleared up very nicely with a bit of small-radius sharpening to reveal considerable fine detail. Bokeh turns out to be very nice for a zoom, even with a relatively small aperture. The extending feature was a bit surprising but it does make the lens nicely compact for its reach: In the stowed position, the lens is smaller than a 12 oz. can of pop. This lens pairs perfectly with the 12-45 F/4 Pro zoom for a small, light, weather-resistant combo with a huge range. Yes, I want to use it more.
