Auray stands are simply superior to all other stands in this price range. They look great and this one works perfectly for mike-ing up acoustic guitars without getting in the way. I use with an Aurey boom mic stand for vocals. Great live gig set-up.

REALLY GREAT!!

This is totally awesome with my killer bee XLR microphone! It works out great for making everything from my amplifiers to my bass drums! Had a great price! Really rugged!

What is the total length at collapse position? I want a stand with arm that will fit inside my Pelican 1650 case for flights.
Asked by: Watson
I contacted the manufacturer to confirm the collapsed length of the Auray MS-5220T Short Tripod Microphone Stand. The collapsed length of the stand without the boom arm attached is 17.7” and 24.5” with the boom arm attached.

So with the main pole at max height of 31", and then the boom extended straight up at 33" max extension, you could get a mic 64" off the ground?
Asked by: Chris
No. While the boom length is listed as 33 inches, when the boom is vertical (easily done), there is considerable overlap of the stand and the boom. Also, the top of the stand itself is more like 29 inches. With everything extended as high as possible, the top of the boom is just over 56 inches from the floor.

Would this stand be suitable for a shotgun mic (like the Rode NTG2)? I want to use it for interviews.
