question
What kind of mic mount does this take?
I just received the 5/8" mic mount I ordered for this (the MP-892, which is listed as a recommended accessory), and it definitely does not fit. The threading on the end of the boom is much larger than 5/8". Ugh.

how much weight can it support ?would like to use a wescott strobe with it
The Auray MS-5230T Tripod Microphone Stand with Telescoping Boom will not work to support the weight of a Westcott Strobe Light. This stand is intended for use with lighter weight microphones and you will want to use a tripod stand with legs that are configured more like those on a camera-style tripod, not legs that lay flat against the floor.
