Canon TR7020a Overview

Functionality meets style in the PIXMA TR7020a compact wireless all-in-one printer, in black, from Canon. Designed for your home or work needs, it's easy to set up, simple to use, and feature-rich. The versatile printer has a clear 1.44" OLED display, built-in compact auto document feeder (ADF), front and rear paper feeding, and auto-duplex printing.

The TR7020a can handle a variety of tasks with ease, including scanning a signed contract with the ADF, and printing homework assignments from virtual classrooms, and you can print from your computer or wirelessly from your smartphone. Standard-size black and color ink cartridges are included while XL sizes are also supported as replacements.

Prints good text and photos but it is a big bulky printer for what it does. My MG7520 is a lot smaller and has the same features.

Good value, but disappointed in clumsy scanning capability.

Overall pleased with the value of the product for the cost and instructions were pretty easy to follow. A little disappointed that the printer is advertised as having scanning capability, however to scan you need to open a downloaded utility tool on your laptop/PC. Most printers with scan capability have a scan button on the printer which is much more convenient than accessing a utility tool. Set-up instructions didn't address scanning steps. I had to access the online manual to find instructions about the scanning functionality.

There are a few different ways to initiate a scan on the Canon PIXMA TR7020a Wireless Inkjet All-In-One Color Printer (Black), B&H # CATR7020ABK. The simplest would involve using the Canon IJ Scan Utility on your computer which you will need to install first, if you haven't done so already. Once you place the document on the flatbed or document feeder, you can then open the Canon IJ Scan Utility and select Auto Scan from the options. The document will be scanned. If you want a better overview of the process and want to learn how to have more control over the scanning settings, page 283 and later on the manual have more detailed explanations. The Canon PIXMA TR7020a Wireless Inkjet All-In-One Color Printer can print decent black and white photos, but it is not what I would call a true black and white photo printer.

Is the 8.2 inch height with the top auto feed open or closed ? I have exactly 8.25" clearance to open the computer desk drawer.
