Yamaha AG06MK2 Overview

The black AG06MK2 from Yamaha is a compact 6-channel mixer and USB interface with built-in DSP for streaming, sound reinforcement, and recording small performances, podcasts, lectures, and similar applications. This updated MK2 version adds a mute button and 3.5mm TRRS input for more flexible live streaming work. It also features an improved build design with updated circuitry for better sound. Capable of recording and playback of high-resolution 24-bit / 192 kHz sound, this mixer features two XLR-1/4" combo mic/line inputs, as well as a stereo 1/4" line input pair, a stereo RCA input pair, and a 3.5mm aux input for portable music players and headsets. The mixer is compatible with Windows/Mac computers as well as iPads and iPhones.

The XLR-1/4" combo mic/line inputs feature switchable 48V phantom power for use with condenser microphones, and input 2 offers a Hi-Z switch for use with electric guitar and bass. The AG06MK2 mixer has stereo 1/4" and stereo RCA outs for connecting to your PA system or monitor speakers. It also has a 1/4" headphone output with level control for personal monitoring.

Fast, Intuitive Sonic Control
With a design similar to a mixing console, the AG06MK2 is equipped with a variety of physical controls that help you shape and manage the audio you stream to your audience. The newly added mute button allows you to cut your mic input at a moment's notice, if the situation demands it, and it can even be controlled using Yamaha's FC5 dedicated footswitch (sold separately), which can also add reverb to your signal while keeping your hands free for other tasks.
Flexible Connectivity and Loopback for Streaming
The AG06MK2 allows you to connect two condenser microphones of your choice, and has two stereo line inputs for instruments, and an upgraded 4-pole mini jack (TRRS) for smartphone input/output capability. Of course, it's also possible to add audio from devices connected via USB in Loopback mode, as with previous AG models. This diverse range of connectivity makes it possible to use high-sensitivity microphones along with each of the audio sources, for a variety of streaming applications such as podcasts with dialog, interviews, vocal performances with an acoustic instrument, or even a live band.
Zero-Latency DSP FX
The AG06MK2 comes equipped with optimized 1-TOUCH COMP/EQ and REVERB controls to dial in the sound that best suits your style. The 1-TOUCH amp simulator to add authenticity and punch to your guitar input All these tools are processed by the internal DSP chip so there's no delay, making it particularly valuable for live streaming when real-time accuracy is crucial. And when you want to capture pure, raw recordings through your preferred microphone and edit them later, you have the option to turn these effects off completely.

AG Controller Software for Precise Control
AG Controller software allows users to easily and precisely check and configure the DSP audio processing inside the AG06MK2. Offering two modes of operation, Simple and Detail, AG Controller gives users of varying music production experience detailed management of their audio from any Windows/Mac or iOS device connected to the AG06MK2 via USB.
Adapt to Your Surroundings
The sleek, slim, and compact body of the AG06MK2 can be placed on virtually any flat surface. By combining it with the optional BMS-10A adapter (available separately), it can be installed on a microphone stand. It can also be connected to a mobile battery (available separately) to configure a mobile streaming station anywhere. For stable operation of the AG06MK2, a power supply of 5VDC, 900mA, or more is required.
Powerful Bundled Software
The AG06MK2 comes bundled with Cubase AI music-production software, as well as WaveLab Cast for audio production and editing. The AG06MK2 is also compatible with Rec'n'Share and Cubasis LE applications for iOS devices, which are available free of charge from Yamaha and Steinberg to support and inspire your audio content creation.

Great little portable mixer

This little USB mixer is a blast. I tested it with a YouTube live stream and it worked perfectly once I explored the settings. I ran through everything, including RCA, XLR, line in, mix minus, USB return, and loop back, and it all behaved exactly as expected. The portability is the best part. I powered the AG06MK2 from a battery bank, my iPhone, and my iPad. My iphone & iPad worked as both a power source and a controller for the settings. Not sure how long my battery would last but it did work. The control apps on Mac, iPhone, and iPad synced with the mixer without any issues. Just enough complexity without being overwhelming for a beginner. I bought this to livestream guitar while I am learning guitar, violin, and piano. I skipped the larger mixers because they needed dedicated power supplies or had more complexity than I wanted. This one hits the sweet spot, with enough flexibility to mix what I need without turning into a troubleshooting exercise. The loop back feature was incredibly useful once I understood how it worked. This thing has far more capability than I expected. My only wish is for a small LED meter, maybe three to five segments, so I could see signal levels at a glance. The single peak light works, but a little more resolution would be helpful. Overall, great little unit and perfect for what I need.

my first mixer, so not sure what to expect. It turns out to be great when paired with my floor standing speakers and receiver using my iPad as the music source to mix with vocals. controls are most intuitive to understand and there are plenty of youtube videos in case there is any questions. the only downside was the Yamaha AG app seemed less sophisticated.
