Strut STR-F3 Reviews

Excellent bag

Fairly robust yet light protection. A small power bank can be attached inside the back panel with some Velcro dots, extending the power capability to all day run and gun shoots. Could use some more attachment options on the outside (such as a belt clip, or D rings for boom pole/tripod leg/c stand attachment), but overall a great little shell for the baby F3. What it may lack in the features of Zoom’s branded bag, it more than makes up for in craftsmanship and build quality.

Good product but not for a power bank

Purchased for my f3 zoom. It's definitely a good case, direct access to all ports and buttons via zippers or by velcro. Once the zips are closed, the zoom remains well protected. The only drawback, the case is designed to be used only with the f3 powered by AA batteries and not to power it with an external power bank. A solution can be to buy one of those mini quick release heads designed for 360 degree cameras, a jointed arm and a mobile phone clamp that assembled together can be attached to the back of the f3 and therefore have a power bank associated with it.

Do you have to use a right angle headphone Jack in order to route the cable out the bottom?
Asked by: Bruce
No, a right-angled headphone jack is not required to route the headphone cable for the Zoom F3 Portable Field Recorder when using it with the Strut Field Case, but it could actually be a good idea if you don't want the cable sticking straight out. You could use an angled adapter like the Hosa Technology GMP272 Male Stereo Mini to Female Stereo Mini Angled Adapter (B&H # HOASMMRASMF).

is there a way to use the zoom f3 in this case ...

is there a way to use the zoom f3 in this case while attached to a usbc battery pack? ordered the bh# KTKSUHX , this week , works well for having the usbc flip 35 battery and the zoom f3 itself in each of the two big compartments, but this item seems more custom fit for the zoom f3.
Asked by: Kevin
The early shipments of the Strut STR-F3 do not have a way to attach a USB-C powerbank. In the shipment delivering to B&H the week of 9/19 there are two upgrades in response to customer feedback. First, the battery cover has been modified to hold certain popular brand power banks. The battery would be naked, but secure. The second upgrade is to secure the XLR connections better. Both upgrades are available to the original design at Strut. Answered by John at Strut
