I have been using this with a 0.5mm thermal pad installed between the camera and the fan. Greatly increased recording time..
The fan is a lot quieter than I expected (even on high). I film a lot in my garage and the Texas heat was really pushing the heat limit on my XH2. The cooling fan seems to help a lot. It does get a little hard to maneuver the screen if you have the fan on, and a microphone and power cable attached to the camera, but it is needed for the cooling capabilities so all in all a good buy.
