The flat, low-profile plate mounts on top of the camera, and it provides attachment points for accessories such as the optional Lightweight Camera Handle LCH-1 and Center Camera Handle CCH-2. You can add more accessories by mounting the optional Top Extension Bracket TEB-1. The plate can also be mounted onto the bottom of the camera for additional mounting options.
