SmallRig NP-W235 Overview

The NP-W235 Kit with 2 Batteries and 2-Bay USB Charger from SmallRig is a portable solution featuring an integrated USB-A cable on the charger, allowing you to connect directly to standard USB wall-plug power adapters. The charger also has a USB-C input port, which lets you connect power banks and other power options using an optional USB-C cable.

The two NP-W235 type lithium-ion batteries each have a 2040mAh capacity. The dual charger provides simultaneous charging and displays charge status, voltage, and current on its LCD screen.

After my Fuji factory unit died, I decided to go inexpensive. This SmallRig unit is excellent and the two batteries were just an excellent bonus. I'll never be without power again.

Becomes unusable after a few uses

Suffers from the same problem I have encountered with every aftermarket battery I've tried so far. (This SmallRig, a different SmallRig, a Watson, a Newmowa and a Batmax) Works great for a short period of time, then the negative pin eventually breaks rendering the battery useless. Have not had this issue with any of my OEM Fuji batteries, so there's something wrong with the spec or material all these aftermarket batteries are using.

Why does this have 2 pins/side when the Fuji one has 4 pins/side?

The two middle pins ("T" ans "S") are missing because this charger offers no thermal protection for the battery when it is charging. And (having taken one apart) there is no thermistor inside the shell of the charger that might detect battery temperatures that are too high or too low.

The SmallRig NP-W235 USB-C Rechargeable Camera Battery can be used as a dummy battery for the Fujifilm system. The camera will operate while the battery is charging, but it is important to note that the battery door must remain open for the cord to plug into the battery.
