SmallRig NP-F970 Battery & Charger Overview

Power any video camera, LED light, or monitor that uses Sony NP-F-type batteries with this NP-F970 Dual-Battery and Charger Kit from SmallRig. Equipped with a fully decoded chip, the NP-F970 battery can be used with a multitude of Sony cameras without causing pop-up windows or any incompatibility issues and is the exact size as the original Sony model. Dual fast charging allows you to charge both batteries simultaneously and separately to keep working with one as the other battery recharges, using the digital LCD screen readout for real-time charging status.

Charging can be done using a USB adapter, car charger, or power bank, as the charger comes with micro-USB and USB-C interfaces, with the latter supporting a 9V, 2A input. Battery capacity is rated at 7800mAh, 7.2V, 56.16Wh.

Batteries Good, but slow charging

I purchased the 2 batteries and charger to power a Hollyland 7inch monitor and a Hollyland transmitter and they work pretty well. One battery works for the transmitter all day, but for the monitor a full charge new battery was already running out halfway through the day, and under limited use. So I knew I needed to get more batteries and bought 2 more. What I don't like about this kit is the charger. I thought I was saving money with the bundled charger, but the charging is very slow. I plugged in 2 partial used batteries for a shoot the next day, and 6 hours later only 1 had finished charging. I charged 10 different batteries (in different outlets/circuits) for different cameras, profoto B1x, the gimbal, and everything charged except these batteries on this charger. I asked an assistant and got a recommendation for a different SmallRig charger. So $60 later, (plus another $30 for 100 watt Anker charger block), I tried that charger and it is was night and day different. It charged 2 partially charged batteries in and hour and half. Chat GPT says this charger here takes 8-9 hours to charge 2 7800 mAh batteries and the newer SmallRig 4 slots charger can do 4 batteries in 4 hours with the 100 watt Anker charging block. So if I were to do it again, I would buy the other charger with batteries or buy the batteries separately and get the other charger. this charger is just annoyingly slow.

Can these batteries charge the FX 30 camera and an Andycine X5 external monitor at the same time?

No, but the SmallRig NP-F970 Dual-Battery and Charger Kit would be able to power the Andycine display. However, the Andycine x5 display does have an 8 volt power output that would allow powering of the FX30 camera. You would use a dummy battery solution like the following: SmallRig 2.1mm DC Barrel to NP-FZ100 Dummy Battery Power Cable (23.6") BH # SM2922B
