Venus Optics Laowa 90mm f/2.8 2X Ultra-Macro Reviews
Excessive play and inconsistent dampening in focusing ring new out of box; also will not lock into Megadap ETZ21 Pro+ adapter
My copy of this lens came out of the box with an excessive amount of play in the focusing ring; it clunks side to side and back and forth intermittently, and the resistance in the dampening varies wildly. Additionally, the lens does not lock into the Megadap ETZ21 Pro+ adapter, so I cannot use it on any of my Nikon bodies without fear of it coming loose and falling off my camera. I'm very disappointed in the build quality of this lens, especially considering how much people rave about it in reviews. I have requested a refund.
Fantastic
I got this just over a year ago. I've never really used manual lenses before so there has been some learning curve but I'm enjoying it and I think it's actually benefitial to be forced into learning like this :) Overall I've been happy with the outcome. The lens is sharp. It has a quality feel but it is a bit heavy. I'm using it on a A6700.
