Lightweight Magnesium Chassis
The lightweight yet rugged magnesium housing enhances durability and longevity for generations to come. The smaller lens diameter allows ZEISS to use thinner lens elements that can be installed closer together. At the same time, the SFL binoculars offer flawless image quality despite the incredible reduction in weight and volume relative to other models.
The lens diameter has been reduced by 2mm, making it possible to use thinner lens elements at closer spacing and reduce the weight by up to 20% and their volume by up to 13% compared to the ZEISS Victory SF models.
True Colors for Nature/Wildlife Observation
The Ultrahigh-Definition (UHD) concept features a special coating and an improved optical design that ensures the binoculars deliver the highest level of detail and reproduce colors with natural fidelity.
Featuring 90% light transmission and ZEISS T* multicoating, you can clearly and precisely recognize details in the twilight, ensuring you capture every moment, even in darker environments.
SmartFocus Concept for Intuitive, Precise Handling
The SmartFocus concept makes it possible to focus quickly and precisely - without having to spread your fingers. The focusing wheel, perfectly positioned in the DoubleLink Bridge, offers the highest level of operating ergonomics, requiring only 1.4 turns from close focus to infinity and capable of being rotated precisely even with gloves on.
The ergonomics of the ZEISS SFL models enable quick and easy positioning of the eye and provide comfortable and immersive viewing due to the large exit pupil. The improved eyecups offer an even better ergonomic feel and a smooth transition between the touch points, which are precisely defined and can be easily reached.
ZEISS T* Coating
ZEISS T* coating guarantees brilliant, high-contrast images in adverse light conditions and at twilight.
There are always exciting things to be seen in the world of nature, even in wet weather. This is why ZEISS developed LotuTec, a coating for the lenses of binoculars and spotting scopes that enables a clear and unhindered view in all weather conditions.

Great optics, not great value

I also have Trailblazers and Monarch M7. Paying $400 more for the M7 yielded a superior binocular and viewing experience due to larger optics better build, controls and ED glass. I feel the larger optics and ED glass are well worth the price of upgrading. The Zeiss was $1000 more than my Monarch M7's. The build quality and viewing experience was slightly better. Main difference was slightly brighter. My use was usually limited to 1-3 hrs per sitting. Maybe there would be a difference for those who used these longer. If you were looking for good value I'd recommend the M7. If you don't mind paying a premium for Zeiss I can recommend them, you will not regret it.
Amazing!!!

Bought this binocular to go with my Zeiss riflescope I have had since 2020. This bino replaces a heavy Kowa 10x56. It is about half the weight with very little change in the field of view and very bright clarity.

Besides weight, what is the difference between the Zeiss 10 x 40 SFL and the 8 x 40 SFL models?
Asked by: Anastasia
The main difference between the ZEISS 10x40 SFL Binoculars and the ZEISS 8x40 SFL Binoculars is the magnification. The 10x allows you to be closer visually than the 8x, but the 8x allows for a wider field of view.
