Can it be directly mounted to a regular ceiling? I don't have the aluminum ceiling frame as suggested in the picture.
No, the ALZO Suspended Drop Ceiling Mounting Bar for Stage Lights (Black Cord) is designed with three adjustable light mount clips, and two suspended ceiling mounts with hanging clips to attach to support wires from a suspended ceiling T-bar frame. This would not work with a regular ceiling. However, if you removed the clips and added two Impact 3" Baby Pin Wall Plates BH #IMSRP115P and two Impact Rapid Baby to 1/4"-20 Male Threaded Adapter BH #IMCA101 you could drill them into studs on a ceiling. This is not the intended use of the product, but it may work.
