SmallRig AP-10 Tripod with Ball Head Reviews

Light, Sturdy (Ball Head Not So Much)

I've had this lightweight carbon fiber tripod for some time now. I'm not much of a tripod shooter, but that makes it all the better for the tripod I have to pack up small and be lightweight, so I have it when I realize that I really need a tripod. This is overall quite well-made. The levers are robust, the legs are extremely rigid, especially considering how light/thin they are. In fact, my only complaint at all is the quality of the ball head: it's not very good, and sometimes a bit fiddly to properly tighten everything up so there's no wobble. It's workable, it just lacks the polished quality of the rest of the tripod. If I cared more about tripods, I'd replace it with a better head, and I'd recommend you do the same - but, overall, it's well worth the investment.

Good, light tripod

Great price at B&H. Lightweight. I like it when I walk. It has no problem holding a R5 with a 24 -105 lens. I’ve used it with my 100–500 mm lens and it’s done well. I would not trust it without keeping a hand on it though. It’s swayed with either lens with wind of 10 to 15. It’s easy to extend and collapse. Before you buy check the height to make sure it’ll work for you. I’m 5‘3“ and it’s a little short. But it gives me a different composition which I like. It comes with a caring case which makes it even easier to carry. I

There's no column, but each leg can bend up to just 5 degrees below horizontal so you can get the tripod head down to just a couple inches above the ground

Can the tripod legs be splayed out for low to the ground shooting?
Asked by: Brandon
This is just wrong. I suggest looking at the manual if you are unable to see/use the tripod itself. The legs for this tripod can be angled to 85 degrees, allowing it to be almost completely flat to the ground.
