Tilta Hydra Alien Shock-Absorbing Head Overview

Smooth your gimbal vehicle shots by reducing shake and vibration with the Hydra Alien Shock-Absorbing Head with Soft Spring Module from Tilta when using it with a Hydra Alien or Predator shock-absorbing arm. This vibration-dampening unit supports gimbals such as the DJI RS 3 or RS 2 in an inverted orientation.

It features soft tension cables for a soft, smooth dampening. There are mounting points for mounting onto the Hydra arm and a quick release for the gimbal. This head is easily interchangeable with the original shock absorbing head.

Very soft damping

If you plan to use this on a camera car, smooth pavement is your only option. Be cautious of fast movements with this camera car. There is a lot of movement with the soft design. It works great though in those conditions. I have every head from tilta for each terrain my camera car has to drive on. Just a "heads up" when shopping for this one.

This works so much better than the original shock mount that comes with the Hydra Alien. My footage had a really bad side to side wobble with the old mount, and this new soft mount cleared that up right away. This really should just come with the Hydra Alien kit, because the whole rig is useless without it. Maybe if you have a really heavy camera kit the old mount might work. At least Tilta did the right thing by offering this at all. It is a much better solution than trying to modify the original. Works great with my Komodo and Sigma 18-35 on the RS2.

The Tilta Hydra Alien Shock-Absorbing Head with Soft Spring Module is actually a Manfrotto style plate but does not accommodate all Manfrotto plates. The two compatible plates Tilta offers come with the Hydra Alien car mounting system and the arca/manfrotto plate that comes with the Tilta 15mm LWS Arca Manfrotto Dual Baseplate and Tilta Lightweight Shoulder Rig. How do I attach a dji rs4 pro to it? What other item do I need?

To attach the DJI RS4 Pro to the Tilta Hydra Alien Shock-Absorbing Head, you use two different parts - First is the Tilta Power Supply Base Plate for Select DJI Gimbals, TIGAPBP And second, the Power Supply Base Plate then mounts to a nonspecified Manfrotto style quick release plate. Tilta does not accommodate all Manfrotto plates, so third-party solutions are not guaranteed to fit.

The Tilta Hydra Alien Shock-Absorbing Head with Soft Spring Module very well may do the job but the Celestron Vibration Suppression Pads for Tripods (BH #CEVSP) is the tool for the job.

The Tilta Hydra Alien Shock-Absorbing Head with Soft Spring Module is designed to work with the payload weights of the DJI RS 3 or RS 2 in an inverted orientation. The payload weight of the DJI RS3 would be about 10lbs.
