The fast, all-in-one solution is designed to be easy for anyone to use, simply download the setup app to your iOS or Android mobile device, and you're ready to start recording in minutes. The unit features a 32-bit floating point recording option that offers extended headroom and eliminates digital clipping, while users making larger recordings can opt instead for the space-saving 24-bit option. The sampling rate is 48 kHz and audio is recorded to a microSDHC card with a capacity of up to 32GB. The locking 3.5mm input jack will accommodate a wide range of lavalier microphones (available separately) and a belt clip is also available separately.

Could you plug something like the Rode Newscaster ...
Could you plug something like the Rode Newscaster receiver into this to achieve wireless, TC-synced boom audio?
Yes, you can connect the wireless receiver from the RODELink Newsshooter Kit Digital Camera-Mount Wireless Plug-On Microphone System to the input on the Tentacle Sync TRACK E Pocket Audio Recorder. However, the input on the TRACK E uses a locking 3.5mm TRS connector, so you will need to use an adapter to enable connection. You can use the Sennheiser CL1 3.5mm to 3.5mm Output Cable (B&H # SECL1), which has a locking 3.5mm connector on one side to connect with the recorder's locking input and a standard non-locking connector on the other side which you can join together with the standard non-locking connector on the receiver's output cable using the Hosa Technology GMM303 3.5mm Female Stereo Mini to 3.5mm Female Stereo Mini Adapter (B&H # HOASMFSMF).

Could we record a Universal Audio Sphere DLX ...
Could we record a Universal Audio Sphere DLX Modeling Microphone into the Tentacle TRACK E somehow? What about power?
The Universal Audio Sphere DLX Modeling Microphone (B&H # UNMICUADLX) is not compatible for direct connection to the Tentacle Sync TRACK E Pocket Audio Recorder. Aside from the different connector type, the recorder cannot supply enough voltage to power the mic. You will need to use a separate phantom power supply like the Mackie M48 Single-Channel 48V Phantom Power Supply (B&H # MAM48), and an adapter cable like the Sennheiser XLR Female Microphone Cable (B&H # SECM1), which has a locking 3.5mm connector that will connect to the input on the recorder.

Is there a tentacle sync compatible recorder that ...
Is there a tentacle sync compatible recorder that can provide 48V phantom power?
Almost any professional audio recorder with XLR microphone inputs will be able to provide phantom power. When it comes to compatibility with the Tentacle Sync, the best option would be a recorder with timecode input such as the Zoom F6 for example. However, your choice of a recorder should be based on your needs such as number of inputs, recording format, and so on, and in a pinch timecode data from the Tentacle Sync can be recorded on a spare audio track.
