Godox MS300-V Studio Flash Monolight

With a guide number of 190', the MS300-V Studio Flash Monolight from Godox is a 5800K flash source that replaces the original 150W halogen lamp model with a 10W LED modeling lamp that draws very little power with great brightness. It features a 0.1 to 1.8 second recycling time with flash durations as short as 1/2000 sec. Power is variable from 1/32 to full power while the 10W LED modeling light is adjustable from 5 to 100%. Triggering options include sync cord, optical, test button, and wireless power control. The MS300-V is ready to run on 110 to 120 VAC mains power. It has a Bowens mount for wide compatibility with optional accessories.

I'm a long-time photographer, but I'm very new to strobes, and I wanted an inexpensive kit to practice with. This kit comes with two stands as well as two softboxes, which I think is a great value. The lights are relatively easy to set up right out of the box, and the power can be stepped up in 1/10th of a stop increments between full power and 1/32 power. This kit also comes with an XT16 wireless transmitter, since the MS300-V has its own internal wireless receiver. If I had to be critical of one thing, it would be the inclusion of this older transmitter. The one drawback is that the transmitter can only step the flash power in 1/3rd of a stop increments, and its power doesn't fully sync to the power on the strobe. That means that for more finely tuned adjustments, you will need to make them on the back of the MS300-V itself, which may not be convenient for you depending on your setup. Since this is a budget-friendly kit, and while I think the build quality of the strobes is great, I think the stands are a bit wobbly and light, which is to be expected for the price. Handle with care! The segments are spring-loaded. The softboxes are collapsible and simple. I think the case the kit comes in is great. It's got a carrying handle along the long end, and a second handle on the short end so that it can be pulled on wheels. I wish the wheels were on casters, and the pull handle would be nicer if it extended out from the case, but it gets the job done and is sturdy. It also has rearrangeable dividers and a couple of straps to keep your equipment neatly organized. I'd definitely recommend this for anyone else looking for a versatile kit on a budget.

For the money, this light packs a pretty good punch. Light weight and dependable. No need to think twice on purchasing this light.

I'm not familiar with Browne mount, but if you mean Bowen mount then -yes, the light and the soft-boxes in this kit are Bowens S Accessory Mount.

Yes the Godox MS300-V Studio Flash Monolight should work with the flashpoint R2 Xpro II controller. Note, the Godox MS300-V Studio Flash Monolight is a manual flash and does not support TTL.

The Godox MS300-V Studio Flash Monolight has a built in receiver that communicates with the included trigger, so you will not need to purchase any receivers.

I cannot figure out how to connect the MS300 to the light stand. The light connection is round. Stand is screw-on adapter.

The post on the stand goes into the female receiver on the light. With this light you do not use the screw on the top of the stand. The light just goes on the post over the screw and down onto the larger post.

Yes, the Godox MS300V is a mains-powered studio flash and must be constantly plugged in during use; it does not have an internal rechargeable battery.
